The study of the elderly’s health and quality of life in Europe, in Spain and in Castile and Leon, is a subject of great relevance due to the progressive aging of the population and the related health and dependency problems that are increasing in this context.
The existence of a gender gap drives the focus of public policy measures directly on older women. Education, and socio-economic position in general, are fundamental determinants of health and quality of life at all stages of the human life cycle including that of old age.
